jane - a 100 word novel

In her career Jane finished and exhibited only five paintings. It took her years to learn how to sculpt the paint as thickly as she wanted without destroying the board or the paint sliding off. The first painting, when she was twenty-five, was three metres high and five wide, a storm of blues, whites and blacks reaching out. Her next two paintings were exhibited when she was thirty-seven, red and dark blue. Her fourth was black, exhibited at forty-three. She was eighty-nine when she completed her final work, a tiny canvas with a mound of white paint.
