normal service resumes

More of the recently started and still untitled poem, the first instalment of which was posted here last Wednesday:

compass swings
and rocks
then spins back round.
boxes of
ruined books
in a garage
swelled
and rotten
stuck
together
wet mould.
one
summer evening
the aurora borealis
was visible
from
a field
in yorkshire.
snow
half melted
frozen
turns the pavement
to
an ice shelf
chopped
and footprints.
wild garlic
under
broken leaves of light
underfoot.
from house to fence
behind the drive
a washing
line
clothes pegs
and clothes pegs.
