patreon revived
During 2016/17 when Santiago's Waspcast was happening I had a Patreon page. And while technically it continued to exist it sat unused from mid-2017 - which was fine because I had no patrons.
But since May 2018, and even more since July, my activity has ramped up in a much more organic way. There are the weekly live vocal improvisations, there are the almost weekly accounts of long walks, there are the less frequent Stick Figure Asperger's comics, and there's a range of other material on a more sporadic basis.
All this is being fitted in alongside a full-time job that doesn't pay especially well, and especially with the walks there are costs attached to this. In that specific instance I tend to walk to some place then get a train back to Manchester, and tickets aren't free.
More long-term I'd like to continue producing audio and video content, and to improve the quality of the sounds and images. Better lighting and building myself a set would also be a priority. Ultimately, though it seems unlikely, I'll like to be in a position to devote more time to these activities.
And that's where Patreon comes in. For just $1 a month you'll get access to patron-only posts, and for $5 a month get the chance to select walks for me. I do plan to expand the rewards later. You can support me on Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/mattdalby.

I really feel uncomfortable about Patreon, and even about self-promotion as a whole, but I've been chucking my work out into a void for more than 20 years now, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to get some reward for that, assuming the work's good enough.
That said, if you can't afford to support me, if you don't this it's worth it, or you just like free stuff that's totally fine. I feel much the same way. And if I could afford to regularly support creators there are a tonne of people I'd choose ahead of me.
