reflect - new poem

Earlier this month I posted the sixth poem in my sequence for my MA dissertation equivalent. I certainly don't intend to post all of them, but since it took so long to get even this far I wanted to post reflect, the most eighth and most recent.

reflect

video makes the surface of the water of the mersey in manchester look black. cyclist goes through red light to get ahead on a junction. wasp walking on the inside of the window flies off lands back at the bottom starts walking again. stand with headphones on using shotgun mic to track sounds. typewriter poems. barges disturbing plastic and other waste in the canal. waste gathered and released by locks. construction site for new metrolink line and tram depot. trafford road bridge mounted on mechanism that swung it back to leave the ship canal clear. a foot route from salford quays into manchester under the bridge. [7] sound recording of a large group of seagulls on a mud bank. a cormorant among them drying its wings isn't audible. fast moving clouds. rain. on rocks in the river recording the sound of agitated flow. the sound of a generator. more than a dozen disused loading bays. pneumatic ballast injection - stoneblowing. patch of moss on the flat roof of a disused factory building. clouds drop dark grey below sight. lights on construction plant brighten. man carries lengths of wood supported on one shoulder into a youth centre. scaffolding. one day's sound recordings along the ship canal unusable for traffic noise.
