september cd-r rhoad now complete

September's sound poetry CD-R Rhoad is now complete. It comprises four tracks and lasts just over 32 minutes.

First track Raim begins with a rough rhythmic loop and abstract chimes and incorporates recordings from radio news among other sounds. It lasts just over 7 minutes.

Second track Rivvr is dominated by two cassette recording of speech layered over each other and playing at double speed. Scrapes, harsh vocal sounds and a field recording of water build up to high volume. It is around 6 minutes long.

Rhoad is the third track. It is composed mainly of drones and a single field recording of myself running up and down steps close to the Mersey. It is close to 10 minutes.

Finally Vlrr is just over 9 minutes. It has the most 'live' vocal of all the pieces here. Gibbering, groans and other vocalisations intersect with slowed down cassettes and a field recording of bird song. But for the most part the voice is dominant.

The cover is below.
