on a landing in work i saw what looked like a gold or imitation gold earring on the ground. it was intricate, rounded, not just a cut-out. and quite large about two centimetres long. below the descender it flared out wide then nipped-in abruptly before opening out in a broad more-or-less spearhead shape. close-up it was a yellow leaf possibly hawthorn with a snail track on it that had come in on somebody's shoe. it was beautiful.
