changes to counting backwards website soon
After a long time neglecting the Counting Backwards website we will shortly move to a new, more user-friendly host.
While some of the neglect might be attributable to laziness, being busy, or just disorganisation, for me at least the main problem has been the process for uploading media files. In comparison even to a relatively old platform like blogger uploading files in WordPress is not intuitive, and is long-winded and complicated. And by the standards of more recent (particularly micro-) blogging services is even worse. Since audio and video files may already have gone through a lengthy process of editing (and with blogger or WordPress uploading to a hosting service), the idea of yet more unneccessarily complicated steps to post the files to the blog has proved too much.
Although it has not yet been decided which service to move to, the intention is to move quickly, and have the new URL in place within around ten days. Thereafter you should see immediate improvements, as whichever service we choose to go with will be quicker to use. There will be news here and on Counting Backwards ahead of any change.
Once the change is made we should be able to update more frequently. We will either set up a redirection, or if that is not possible will endeavour to keep the old site updated from the new while promoting whatever the new URL is.
