Richard Barrett, Gareth Twose and Steven Waling are organising a poetry reading (actually a bit broader than that - see below) in support of Pussy Riot. It's on Monday 17 September at Lass O'Gowrie from 19.30.

Following the recent 2-year prison sentence handed out to Pussy Riot members Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Maria Alyokhina and Yekaterina Samutsevich for 'hooliganism motivated by religious hatred', we thought we could demonstrate our political and poetic solidarity by staging a poetry reading in Manchester.
We therefore plan to stage an evening consisting of readings of Pussy Riot-related material, Russian poetry/fiction (in translation), theoretical/political writing.  The event will be on Monday, September 17 at the Lass O'Gowrie pub (central Manchester, off Oxford Road) starting around 7.30pm.
