manchester artists' bonfire returns
If the last year hasn't taught you exactly how much - and exactly how - the coalition regards the arts then you need to come along to the second Manchester Artists' Bonfire.
It takes place Thursday this week (26 January) at Islington Mill between 6-9pm.
A large number of artists will burn their work as a reaction to funding cuts, and for a whole range of other reasons.
After the art is burned an afterparty, Cough It Up! will take place. Entry is £4 or £3 if you burn something.
Among those playing are awesome improvising Womb. See the last year of santiago's for numerous reviews.
I'll be among those burning work. Using twigs, cable-ties, and newspaper I made an 80cm figure. This was then painted - you can see images of the finished sculpture below.
Come along - it's going to be brilliant.
