What with Christmas, New Year and all-round laziness I haven't posted for a few days. Here are some current and upcoming publications and events that might be of interest.
The latest issue of Department is now available. You can buy your copy here. I haven't actually bought mine yet - so leave one for me will you?
Available online is the latest issue of Ekleksographia titled after oulipo. The picture below is a detail from David Miller's Untitled (Visual Sonnet) #11 used as a cover image for the issue.
Lee Machell has a new exhibition opening at Untitled Gallery in Manchester this weekend. Drawings & Matches opens this Saturday with a preview on Friday from 6-9pm. The exhibition is open from 8 January - 20 February 2011.
Untitled Gallery is open Wednesday 12-7pm, Thursday-Saturday 12-6pm and Sunday 12-5pm at the Friends Meeting House, 6 Mount Street (Bootle Street Entrance), Manchester M2 5NS
Chinese Arts Centre have some interesting events lined up for Chinese New Year running from 11 January - 5 February.
The Other Room 22 happens on 2 February with Andrea Brady, Stephen Emmerson, Jow Lindsay and Posie Rider. It should be an excellent night. It's certainly an impressive line-up.
As usual entry is free and the event kicks off at 7pm. The Other Room takes place at The Old Abbey Inn on Manchester Science Park, 61 Pencroft Way, Manchester, M15 6AY.
The following day sees the return of Counting Backwards with our fifth (fifth!) event. James Davies, Philip Davenport, Juxtavoices and Helen Shanahan perform.
As usual the event is free and starts at 7.30pm. Counting Backwards happens at Fuel, 448 Wilmslow Road, Manchester, M20 3BW.
