I've been listening to serious amounts of Marianne Faithfull recently.

She has a rare ability to occupy a song and make it her own.

This isn't my favourite but a lot of the others I wanted to post are either not available or have quite poor videos. I would recommend you track down her version of Working Class Hero from Broken English.
