whisper almost here

Below is the found and slightly treated image that will appear on the front of June's CD-R to be called Whisper.

A little editing remains to be done, and I also have a lot of other recording to complete this weekend for an ongoing collaboration, but Whisper will be ready well before The Other Room on 3 June.

Whisper will last around 50 minutes and comprise 3 tracks - silo, waterpark, and concrete pipe - but possibly not in that order. It develops the ideas explored in South but with more voice, fewer field recordings, and the addition of flange pedal for complete transformation of some sound sources.

Coming over the next two or three months will be some new textures and refinements to my sound. Possibly in time for The Other Room but certainly for July's CD-R I'll have a cymbal available which can be bent, struck, brushed, contact-mic-ed, bowed and more. And to facilitate the bowing of cymbals, wine glasses etc I should also have a violin bow about the same time. Further along, and adding greater flexibility to both live performance and recordings, I'm waiting for an 8-channel mixing desk.
