this week on sdm - dead media 13: reading shelley's queen mab pt 2
And now published for everyone this week, part two in my reading of Shelley's Queen Mab and Notes. In this second instalment I read Canto IV and the associated notes.
This canto is less compelling than the previous three - it's much more repetitive, especially with the poem within the notes; and the imagery is much more familiar from other writings of the period.
Although there are a few light flubs in the reading, I think it's more successful than the previous instalment. The quality of the recording is also much better - I remembered to use my soundproof booth, tripod and pop-screen this time round.
As always it's available on both YouTube and SoundCloud (at link, and below). Enjoy.
