november

The piece for this month's open mic slot at Freed Up has been finished - both scored and a preliminary recording made. The scoring was easier than usual and required fewer changes than usual. The recording serves to iron out any problems, and in this case is so I can spend the next two and half weeks learning it. In fact I could probably do most of it right now other than a burst of fluency at the end.

The score has been handed in as a piece for the MA, and a recording will posted here after the performance. It won't be the current recording because it's simply not good enough. A version of the score will be posted at another time.

This week is quieter than recent weeks, but don't expect a rush of posts. Despite last month it remains unlikely that the current level of activity can be sustained long term, although I will try. November looks quieter in general than October, with only three or four nights out each week expected at the moment. That said there are already a couple of open mics organised, and I'm about to start targeting more nights, and preparing sound poetry pieces that don't rely on the LoopStation. The rationale being solely that it should be easier to get slots where I don't need to drag a lot of kit down and cause disruption. But with metal pails, circuit bent toys, and wordless pieces it shouldn't be difficult to make an impression.
