images and stuff

Right it's all a bit irritating really. It takes ages to load things directly using blogger but you can cram several pictures into a post. With photobucket they're easier to upload to there and from there to here but you have to resize them and there doesn't seem to be a way of posting more than one at a time. Oh well.

Anyway in the meantime here are some ramblings about art and being unloved. See you soon.

So, the second week back at work after a fortnight off and I still want to walk out/not turn up every single minute. Less acutely than last week but it's a real fucking effort to get out of bed in the morning.

But having got out to a bunch of exhibitions in Manchester this weekend the ideas won't stop. Not least of which is a way to rescue a scrap timber sculpture I started but which ground to a halt resembling a dog or a chicken depending how you looked at it. Photos and sketches here as soon as it's finished, honest. Also finished some images based around text, none of them terribly original but it's a starting point - and did a couple of sketches. It's nice not being tied to just writing, although going to the exhibition at the Whitworth Gallery sparked off a frenzy of note writing. They're all fairly impressionistic at the moment, and it's not clear whether they should be worked up into a more ordered form or just left as they are.

Quite apart from that, just going to an exhibition on my own is quite an achievement. Social Anxiety (from whatever cause - see previous discussions here) remains a serious problem. This could be the week to try and get out to a club/pub on my own - unfortunately there's no one around whose contact details I have who's available this week. As this is a subject that keeps coming up you'll probably have regular updates. Unfortunately the counselling and CBT sourced through work has come to an end. All that remains is to wait for the NHS clinical psychologist to become available. Every six months the department writes and asks whether you wish to remain on the waiting list. Evidently mental health practitioners are rarer than dentists. Yes, santiago managed to get into a surgery and will have had his teeth sorted by November 6.
