Okay here's a bunch of links that will get added over on the right at some point, but they're all worth checking out. Except maybe the Manchester ones if you're not planning to ever come here - and if not, what the devil is wrong with you?
Manchester
Red Deer Club - interesting music night and events. None of your bog-standard indie shite either. 15/5/8 (Perhaps excepting the odd one-off event) I believe they're now defunct
Filmonik - kind of open-mic night for short filmmakers. You don't need to have made a film, or any intention of ever making one to get in - all you need is £2.
Magazines
Vertigo - Film, new media and more. Sometimes a little bit pretentious, but fuck it, that shows ambition. Six quid mind if you want a hard copy, but there's only three a year.
Wire - You might know this - they even stock it in Spar and Fopp - 'least they do round our way. Music beyond the bounds of what you might hear on Radio 1, Radio 2, 6 Music etc - there may be the odd thing crops up on 3 or 1Xtra, but don't hold your breath. The best bet for an audio equivalent is Resonance FM - that's yer actual Audio link there.

Most of these are people Santiago knows and therefore worth looking at - even if they've all been slacking-off for most of the last year.
